The deadline to purchase and carry on every motor vehicle a reflective vest was extended until the end of January this year, but from the first day of February, the police and the auditors of the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications apply the provisions of the statute that they established the obligation to carry at least one in every of these phones.
The Ministerial Regional Secretary for Transport and Telecommunications, Gabriel, who reiterated that the measure is aimed at protecting the lives of drivers who, under circumstances in low light, should get out of their cars, vans or trucks in streets, avenues, rural roads or highways.
“For us, the most important is the lives of drivers,” said Munoz, reiterating also should prevail self-care and the necessary measures for responsible driving and pay attention to the general conditions of traffic.
Munoz also indicated that according to statistics of the National Commission of Traffic Accidents, “in the last decade thousands of people (600 last year alone) were killed by being overwhelmed by other motorized when vehicles, without using safety vests, they stopped their phones on routes that crossed, they got off for some reason, but without the protection of reflective vest, which prevented be viewed by other drivers. ”
The reflective vest is described in Decree Law 164/2014, dated September 6 last year and amended administratively Traffic Law, the number 18,290.
This must be yellow (lemon), with at least the torso belts, five centimeters wide; forming a triangle on the back and be visible, at least, 150 meters from where the driver of the vehicle in detention has been lowered, with the obligation you put it on before leaving your mobile.

Motorcycle riders and cyclists are not obliged to wear reflective vests, but the demands for safe movement, later as reflective tapes are maintained; lights in good condition and helmet use, among others.
Police and the auditors of the Ministry of Transport require from the first of February that each motor vehicle carries at least a reflective vest, as well as required in Argentina and in eight European countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Norway, Spain and Sweden.
