Lightweight, multi-functional, individually tailored to the user thanks to its three-dimensional scanning profiles – new safety vests protractor tested today by police in Szczytno. “It vests the XXI century” – says Grozny from the Institute of Security Technology in Lodz.
According to their creators vests are lightweight, individually tailored to the user, flame, with increased user comfort, and most importantly – protect both ballistic weapons grade TT, as well as melee weapons – knives, spikes and needles. They hit on equipment such as Police, BOR or the army. They are currently being tested by police in Szczytno and are tested polygonal.
Ballistic vests to wear a hidden using a 3D scanner developed under the project acronym “Secret”. It performs scientific and industrial consortium, led by the Institute of Security Technology. Currently, mass-produced vests are standard in several sizes and there are difficulties in their adaptation to a particular officer.
The new vests will be individually tailored to the user thanks to the three-dimensional scan of his body. “Vest has individualization, which can be developed to a specific person, which is scanned in 3D and on this basis in the system created an avatar of his person. As a result, we can try on the vest does not tailoring it even physically, that is, save time and money. Only when will match it avatar on the client, the reflective vest goes into production “- said project manager Grozny.
In the case of a larger group of customers, we are created individualization identified group, which are scanned by different individuals and groups are created people close to each other in size – then arise averaged matching vest for each group. According to specialists ballistic protection is all the more effective the closer the body.
“On the occasion of the scanning procedure established for the protection of personal data. The idea was to scan people, including officers of various ranks, they could not be identified,” – said Gabor. The 3D scanning and security procedures developed by specialists from the Police Academy in Szczytno.
The new vest is multifunctional. According to police experts, such modern equipment is necessary for the officers, because studies have shown that bulletproof vests currently used by the police during the operation does not fully protect them from attacks using white weapons “The vest has two detachable inserts – one is immune to firearms level + + (TT pistol 7.62 mm). A further second input, coupled to the first one gives the best resistance to the knife and spike needle “- explained head design.
Vest with a basic contribution ballistic weighs 2.5 kg, an additional contribution makes the vest is a little heavier, but it is multi-resistance also at-arms. The outer part of the fuselage of the new vest is flame-retardant and the inner side of the body is knitted spacer thereby applying out plaster that responds to body temperature and improves the comfort of the vest.
“We put on this vest in principle, most of the new ideas that have emerged in recent years and thus vests by reflective fabric, which are supplied with our services since the 90s gained new image – matched to a person, group, for service, for which the maximum comfort is possible and adapted to the risks, “- he stressed the head of the project.
